Note: Installing a drip edge flashing along the eaves edge is something we have made standard on all of our installations. This bottom edge is a common place for water to infiltrate behind the fascia board and rot along that edge is common to occur.

Drip edge is designed to shed water from the roof into the eavestrough and not allow an opportunity for water to track back or get in behind. Many companies do not install this product, or they offer it as an extra, but it in our opinion should be standard on every installation.
